I am a passionate recorder of my family's yearly exploits, which has naturally developed into an interest in helping others capture their family moments, as well. Wherever you are in your life, it's always a good time to give yourself the gift of pictures. Photography Style + Details
My photography strives to capture authentic moments, full of the fun, emotion, love and interaction that exists in a family. I always edit all the photos in your final gallery, adjusting for things such as shadows and color correction, to ensure that your photos have a beautiful and professional feel. I believe in providing you with sincere and honest pictures of you and your family, so my editing does not typically include airbrushing or extreme changes to the original photos. As I edit, I will keep some of the gallery in color and will change some of the images to black and white. Additionally, I believe that the pictures I take belong to you. All of the sessions I offer include a thumb drive with edited digital files and a photo release form that encourages you to use the pictures however you please. Print them, share them on social media, use them on your Christmas card... they are yours to treasure forever, however.
Locations
I work outdoors using natural light in my photography. I have a number of Kalamazoo area locations that are ideal in different seasons, but am also always open to location suggestions from my clients. Locations outside of Kalamazoo will be subject to an additional travel fee, dependent upon the location's distance from Kalamazoo. When we set up your session, we will discuss what you're looking for in your surroundings.
Scheduling a Session
When you're ready to schedule a session, contact me to start discussing options. We will work together to settle on a day, time and location that will work for both of us. At that time, we can also discuss the details of your session so I know what it is you're looking for in your pictures. I will also discuss a partial deposit with you to hold your place on my calendar.
Prints + Products
Since my package prices include the edited digital files of your entire gallery, you are free to use any service you wish for printing your own pictures. However, I do offer one unique service that you may find very appealing. My favorite way to preserve and display my family's pictures is to create a photo book with my favorite images. These books are a beautiful and even functional way to ensure that these special photos are enjoyed for years to come. Keep it on the coffee table or put it on a shelf... you'll be surprised how often it will be brought back out and flipped through, by yourself, your guests, and even your own children, who love to watch themselves grow. I will happily create a photo album for you from your gallery of images, and I can guarantee it will be a book your family will always treasure.
